BURNING MOUNTAIN IS A REAL PLACE LOCATED IN NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA AND IS HOME TO THE WORLD’S LONGEST BURNING COAL SEAM FIRE. LEGEND SAYS THAT A LIGHTNING STRIKE STARTED THE FIRE APPROXIMATELY 6,000 YEARS AGO, AND IT HAS BEEN BURNING EVER SINCE.

OUR Family

We are the Templeman Family, and we eat, sleep, and breathe adventure. Whether it’s hiking on Kilauea’s volcanic lava field, high-altitude elk hunting in Colorado, or watching Patrick Mahomes lead the Kansas City Chiefs to victory in frigid outdoor conditions, we are immersed in outdoor experiences.

Burning Mountain was created because we were unsatisfied with cold fingers, toes, and extremities. The existing options for air-activated warmers didn’t warm up quick enough or stay hot long enough to combat the cold effectively. Through rigorous testing and development, Burning Mountain solves both of those issues.

Automotive

Our premier automotive sales team at R&R Marketing Consultants, Inc. is always up for adventure. Pictured at the top of the world-renowned Butler Peak Fire Lookout (8500’ elevation) in Big Bear, California (left to right): Mark Petro, John Keller, and David Rocco.

Mark Petro is our resident Jeep-enthusiast who resides in California but plays in the mountains, deserts, and offroad trails across America. He also has a passion for muscle cars and his restored 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 was featured on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine.

John Keller is a former racer and worked previously at Good Guys Rod and Customs. He enjoys restoring cars, racing, and trucks!

When it comes to cycling, David Rocco has done pretty much everything short of riding in the Tour de France. The picture on the left highlights his 2018 RAAM Challenge Texas race in which he was part of a two-man team that tackled the 500-Mile race in just 30 total hours. This is the same year that he completed a solo, 3-Day, 300-Mile Adventure Race throughout Big Bend National Park in Texas.

Dave Lafond has a passion for mountain biking throughout the USA, and when the weather turns bitter cold Dave keeps on pedaling through snow, ice, and sleet.

Fishing

Jon Templeman, our founder, is an avid fisherman who has been involved with the marine industry for over 40 years. He is pictured on the left during a fishing trip to Alaska. Whether it’s tarpon fishing in Costa Rica, trout fishing in Colorado, or salmon fishing in Alaska, Jon has fished with 2 former US Presidents, multiple marine icons, tv celebrities, fishing professionals, and has even been featured on sports shows such as ESPN.

Trista Tinsley, our Operations Manager, always enjoys a good fight on the end of a fishing pole. She is pictured on the right fishing in British Columbia, Canada. She enjoys whitewater-fishing in the mountains and saltwater-fishing along the US coastline.

Hunting

South Dakota pheasant hunting trips are common between Christmas and New Years Eve. Our late English Setter “Daisy” was a hunting machine! Whether it’s dove hunting in crop fields with .410 shotguns (to make it difficult), having wolves surround our tent at night while elk hunting in Colorado, or sitting quietly in a tree stand at dusk and dawn awaiting a deer to approach, we have plenty of stories to tell around a campfire.

Powersports

Chuck Lenhart’s son Ryder (aptly named), rode for the Letko Cycles Racing Team in outdoor motocross and indoor arenacross during the Winter months. Ryder is a multi-year Hoosier Arenacross Champion, Missouri State Champion, and was nationally ranked. Racing arenacross in the Midwest during the Winter can be extremely cold because the doors to the arena are open to allow for proper ventilation. Competing at a high-level in motocross and arenacross in extremely cold weather is impossible if you can’t feel your hands and feet because of the cold. Burning Mountain’s hand and feet warmers provide the necessary warmth to keep any serious rider focused and nimble amidst the harshest conditions.

Jake Hopfinger and his wife Carly Templeman travel to Colorado every year - sometimes multiple times each year - to ski and snowboard. Collectively, the entire Burning Mountain team has skied in multiple countries all over the world and relies on the quick, air-activated heat provided by Burning Mountain’s warmers to keep them comfortable while traversing some of the most grueling terrain and outdoor conditions throughout the adventure.

Sports are a major part of the Templeman family dynamic. We are 32-year season ticket holders for the Kansas City Chiefs and never miss a game. Pictured on the right is our founder Jon Templeman and President Brock Templeman attending a Winter game with our late, beloved church pastor and friend, Dr. Reggie Epps. We have real-world experience to know how an air-activated warmer needs to perform in order to keep your core and every extremity warm when the temperature dips below freezing!
